Technical tips and tricks for when you can't get the PaySauce app to load

'Waiting for server' error

If your PaySauce app won't load and says waiting for server, this is a common issue experienced either due to specific settings on the device or because the employee has recently transferred apps to a new phone.

Android users

You can search for instructions on how to clear the cache for your specific phone model online if you need, however these instructions work to resolve the issue for most Android users:

  1. Tap and hold on the PaySauce app icon.

  2. Choose App info/settings.

  3. Choose Storage.

  4. Clear data and cache.

Alternatively you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Go to Storage.

  3. Go to Applications/Apps/other apps (depending on the model of your phone as to what this area is called).

  4. Go to the PaySauce app.

  5. It should have details on the User data and Cache size.

  6. Clear the Data and the Cache.

iPhone users

Try the following options. A simple app restart or phone restart typically resolves this.

  1. Close and reopen the app: Swipe up from the bottom of your screen (or double-tap the Home button on older iPhones) to see your open apps. Swipe the app up and off the screen to close it, then reopen it.

  2. Restart your iPhone.

  3. Toggle Airplane Mode Go to Settings and turn Airplane Mode on, wait a few seconds, then turn it off again. This refreshes your network connection.

If you've tried all of these and you're still seeing the error, your iPhone model or iOS version may no longer be compatible with the app - see the section below on up to date iOS.

Ensure that your iOS is up to date for your phone model

iOS compatibility directly impacts your ability to use the latest apps on your iPhone. Most new apps and app updates (including the PaySauce app) require recent versions of iOS to ensure they work properly and provide the latest features and security enhancements.

If your iPhone supports the newest iOS version you’ll have access to the widest range of current apps and features. If your device is too old to update to the latest iOS, you may find that some apps will not install, or you’ll only be able to use older versions with limited functionality.

Developers have to set minimum iOS requirements for their apps, and while Apple allows you to download the latest compatible version for your device, you won’t get new features or updates if your iOS is outdated.

This list, provided by Apple, will help you check iOS compatibility with your phone model.

App unavailable in region

The PaySauce app is currently only available when your app/play store settings are set to somewhere in the Asia/Pacific region.

If you have regional settings for a country not in the Asia/Pacific region, you will receive an error message explaining the app is not available in your region. You will need to change your region settings in order to use the app.

To change your region:

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Tap your name, then tap Media & Purchases.

  3. Tap View Account.

  4. Tap Country/Region.

  5. Tap Change Country or Region.

  6. Tap your new country or region, then review the Terms & Conditions.

Then retry downloading the PaySauce employee phone app.​

⚠️ Please note that if you have an iPhone and have credit in your overseas account, you will lose this once you set up your NZ Apple ID.

iPhone users will only be able to change the region once every 90 days.

Changing the region for Google Play Store is only available every 12 months.
