Adding a new company to your bureau

How to register a new company with PaySauce with your bureau account

Written by Jessica

Once you have been given your bureau (partner) account details you'll be able to sign up your clients for PaySauce and have them automatically be linked to your bureau.

Before you begin, please ensure the company isn't already registered with PaySauce. If the company already has a PaySauce account, our team can link it to your bureau account - there's no need to add a new account.

Before you begin, you'll need:

  • Customer name

  • Company name

  • IRD number

  • Bank account number (for wages to be drawn from)

Steps to register a new client in your bureau

Go to the PaySauce website and log in with your bureau account details.

On your bureau dashboard, click the plus icon to add a new company. It is the plus sign on the top right of the search bar on the 'Employers' tab.

The following details will appear:

Start adding the company details.

Click next to start setting up the pay information.

You'll need to select a pay frequency and specify the pay period and pay dates.

Finally, you'll be setting up their banking information.

Here's what to select for each field:

Use payment service - Select Yes. This applies to Standard and Premium plans. If the client is on the Simple plan, leave this as No.

Payment type - Select Deduction. This tells PaySauce to deduct wages from the client's bank account. Payment won't be active until our team has been in touch to arrange this based on the client's banking details.

Payment options - Select all three options so that employee payments, IRD payments, and any deductions are all paid once the payment method is set up.

Bureau - Add your bureau name to link this client to your bureau.

Workflow preset - This controls who is responsible for processing payroll:

  • Choose Bureau if your bureau handles everything and the employer isn't involved in running pays.

  • Choose Bureau/employer if the employer processes their own pays and your bureau provides support or oversight.

Large employer - Tick this if the employer is recognised as a large employer by IRD. Read more about large employer status on the IRD website.

Next steps

Once you finish on this step, the company will be registered in your bureau and our team will be in touch to follow up the rest of what is needed to get the company started. It will also contain a list of information that we need from you to continue with the client's set up depending on the options you have selected.
